Ali
Landry wowed sports fans and non-sports fans alike during the Super Bowl in 1998.
She entered a laundromat, tossed a Doritos chip into the machine, watched it bounce
around the room, popped it in her mouth, all while captivating the attention of
two male onlookers. She also caught the attention of the entire nation.
Ali had been working show business for a while before that commercial. She was
born on July 21, 1973 in Breaux Bridge, Lousiana. She was raised as a girl of
the south, and continues to think of herself as a true southern gal. She attended
the University of Southwestern Lousiana.
Her career grabbed a giant boost when Ali was named Miss USA for 1996. Then came
the Doritos commercial, and Ali became a very recognizable face. She has done
a lot of work with MTV. She's done some television work, on Sunset Beach, The
Bold and the Beautiful, and hosted "America's Greatest Pets". The Doritos
commercials, though continue to be her claim to fame, possibly one of the most
famous celebrities to emerge from a commercial since "Mikey" from the
Life cereal spots.
